Colon Cleanse - starting point for a thorough detox Featured

Colon Cleanse - starting point for a thorough detox Colon Cleanse - starting point for a thorough detox

Why do we need to cleanse our colons? A modern industrialised lifestyle has taken its toll on our digestive and eliminative organs. Refined, processed low fibre foods, animal fats, a lack of exercise and ever increasing levels of stress all contribute.

The frequency at which a healthy person should have a bowel movement has become a massive misconception amongst the public and medical professionals: healthy bowel movements occur an absolute minimum of once daily and preferably once for each meal – so for most of us, 3 times daily.

A sluggish bowel can retain pounds of old toxic and poisonous waste material. When the colon is overburdened with toxins in a certain area it can begin to spread poisons to other seemingly unrelated areas of the body. For example, through iridology we can often detect links with this and migraines and period problems to name two. The colon can become a breeding ground for parasites, bacteria and viruses. Sluggish digestion can throw your intestinal bacterial balance into chaos, resulting in feelings of bloating, cramping, abdominal pains, heartburn, gas and general tiredness.

Colon cleansing is the foundation of any thorough, professionally recommended detoxification programme and helps to restore the health of an individual through natural means, regardless of the condition.

What does the cleanse consist of?

This stimulating formula is cleansing, healing, and strengthening to the entire gastro-intestinal system. It stimulates your peristaltic action (the muscular movement of the colon) and over time strengthens the muscles of the large intestine, halts putrefaction and disinfects, soothes and heals the mucous membrane lining of your entire digestive tract. This herbal tonic also improves digestion, relieves cramps, increases the flow of bile which in turn cleans the gall bladder, bile ducts and liver, destroys and expels intestinal parasites, increases intestinal circulation and is anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal.

This cleansing and soothing powder is to be used in conjunction with the Cascara Compound Capsules. This is a strong purifier and intestinal vacuum. The formula will draw out old faecal matter off the walls of your colon and out of bowel pockets. It will also draw out poisons, toxins, heavy metals such as mercury and lead and even remove radioactive material such as strontium 90 – benotinite clay can absorb up to 40 x its’ own weight in toxins and this formula will also remove over 3,000 known drug residues. Even the latest military, anti-contamination suits used in 'Desert Storm' to absorb and neutralise nerve gas and chemical warfare bombs are lined with charcoal. This formula, with its naturally mucilaginous properties will soften old hardened faecal matter for easy removal and also make it an excellent remedy for any inflammation in the stomach and intestines.

How long does it take?
About 17 days, on average.

On this cleanse, it normally takes about a week to get your bowels moving properly, before you can introduce the clay, which does the detoxifying part. The body is very clever, and packages toxins up and stores them away in the body fat – the place they will do the least harm. So– it’s really important to get everything moving through before introducing anything that draws out toxicity – otherwise you end up just moving things around your system, and not eliminating them.

You then take the clay mixture for 10 days, and you’re pretty much done. All that needs doing after this is taking some good bacteria to ensure your colon is well-populated with the good guys – that’s just taking a tablet once a day for 30 days, so not too difficult.

Apart from taking the tablets and clay, what else do I need to do?

To get the most from this cleanse – you’ll need to do a detox diet alongside – more details of this in my next post.

Please note:
Detoxification isn’t suitable for everyone – so make sure you consult a naturopath before embarking on any detox programme.

It is possible to detox while on medication but only with professional supervision. If you take The Pill, you will need to use additional contraception during the time you are taking the clay.
